Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival and Walking city tour

Upon arrival at Zurich airport, your private driver picks you up and brings you to the hotel in Lucerne.

In a bit, after your short rest, you meet your local guide in the hotel's lobby and embark on a fascinating walking tour. In about 2.5 hours, you see the magnificent Old Town, Old Chapel Bridge, the world-famous Lion monument, and many more!

After the tour, you explore the city independently or rest in the hotel room.

Overnight in Lucerne.

Day 2: Day in Bern with Christmas market visit

Today in the morning, you take a direct train to Bern, and your local guide will meet you upon arrival at the train station. Together with your guide, you explore the capital of Switzerland and see top city highlights: Einstein House, Gothic cathedral, Rosengarten, and many more.

After the tour, you have a wonderful time on the Christmas market right in the city center! We recommend you visit Christmas Market Orphanage Square, the primary Christmas market in Bern with a bug variety of gifts, tiny cute souvenirs, hot wine, and traditional sweets. Don't hesitate to visit "Platzhirsch" - the popular restaurant on the market.

In the evening you take the train back to Lucerne.

Overnight in Lucerne.

Day 3: Day trip to Mount Pilatus

Today is a real adventure in your long weekend getaway itinerary. You discover one of the most famous mountains in Switzerland - Mount Pilatus. It's located nearby Lucerne and is one of the most famous mountains in Switzerland. There are several legends locals believe. One of them applies that Pontius Pilatus was buried in a Lake there, and the Mount was called in his honor. Another one says the mountain is the belly f a giant, laying on his back. More pragmatic people explain the name of the Mount as "cloud-topped." Allow yourself to explore all the legends and experience Mount Pilatus day trips.

Your journey begins with a 1 hr boat ride to Alpnachstad directly to the foot of the Mount. Then you take one of the steepest cogwheel railways in the world (48 degrees), bringing you to the 7000 (2131 m) feet altitude.

On top of Pilatus, you admire the picturesque view over Luzern, which looks unreal from that height. Moreover, you observe the highest peaks of the area: Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau, Top of Europe, as well as mount Titlis.

You come back by having a fascinating cable car and gondola ride and returning to Luzern by bus.

Please note: The boat trip can be replaced with a train or bus ride in case of bad weather.

Day 4: Lucerne Food Tour

This day you spend in Lucerne and immerse yourself in tasting mouth-watering local cuisine with a local expert. You visit the top 5 places and try the famous chocolate, cheese, and wine. Get your bellies ready, as today nobody will stay hungry!

Please note: The day in Lucerne can be replaced with a day trip to Basel.

 Overnight in Lucerne.

Day 5: Departure

This is the last day of your long weekend getaway. Today in the morning, you check out and have your private transfer to the airport. We wish you a great flight and looking forward to hearing your feedback!
